Philippine Science High School Cordillera Administrative Region Campus (PSHS-CARC), the host of PSHSS UGNAYAN 2022 in Baguio City, welcomed PSHS- CALABARZON Region Campus (CALABARZONRC) as one of the campuses participating in the said event. The purpose of this activity was to bring together the Office of the Executive Director, the 16 PSHS campuses, and the Gender and Development (GAD) activity for a system-wide sportsfest.

The CALABARZONRC delegates marched from the streets of Hill Station to the Baguio Convention Center on the first day to formally kick off the event. In the afternoon of that same day, a seminar on GAD was held, followed by a variety of cultural competitions, including a choral competition, and a Latin dance contest where Ms. Ryanah Ness I. All the athletic events (track and field) were held at Baguio Convention Center on the second day, while the chess tournament and several ball games were hosted at Benguet State University in which the CALABARZONRC participants won several awards, raising the campus’ overall score for cluster 2 as a result. Following these sporting events, a community night with some representatives from the Benguet Local Government Units as honorary guests was held.

On the third and last day of PSHSS UGNAYAN 2022, the championship games for badminton, table tennis, chess, volleyball basketball and Laro ng Lahi were conducted also at Benguet State University. Participants from CALABARZONRC bagged several championship awards in women’s table tennis (singles; student category); table tennis mixed doubles (student category); men’s and women’s basketball (student category and employee category); and, women’s volleyball (student category). The overall winner was recognized as Red Team/Abuyo which included CALABARZONRC, together with Cagayan Valley Campus, Western Visayas Campus, and CARAGA Region Campus. Following the closing event, the cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) demonstrated their drill during the environmental scanning activity. To persuade PSHS students to consider PMA as an option to pursue their college education, some PSHS alumni who are currently PMA cadets gave a brief speech.
